One of the features that will make these concerts special is Tim Mattox sitting down on stage with the headliners at the beginning of the second set conducting a live artist interview. This adds an interesting aspect of digging deep to hear some the stories of growing up and the influences during their musical journey. This will make it really special for the 130 blues aficionados in attendance to get to know the artists.
Timothy Mattox has had an ongoing love affair with radio and television since his youth. It became a career focus during high school, a passion during college, the ultimate proving ground commercially and now, a life-long endeavor. The desire to see the
world manifested itself in the form of U.S. Navy bellbottoms and the Department of Defense. As a Defense Information-trained broadcast journalist and photographer, the road has taken him from the Far East Network in Tokyo, through the jungles of Central America, across the airwaves of Southern Europe to his final posting as the Chief of Radio and Television Sports for the global facilities of the American Forces Network.
From on-air and studio production work in Hollywood to aerial photography from the open door of a Huey helicopter, Mr. Mattox has a wealth of experience in broadcast journalism. During his military career, he worked directly with the 82nd Airborne Division shooting classified footage for Senate Sub-Committee hearings. As a civilian, during the first Gulf War in the early 90s, Mr. Mattox was Chief of Radio for Southern Europe and it was his broadcast network that serviced the desert. He produced the week long series, 'Good Morning, Saudi' with Robin Williams for the troops in-theater.
He wrote, voiced and produced the 18-hour AFRTS music series, 'The Straight, Natural Blues' portions of which now reside in the Library of Congress. He has written biographical features and taken photographs that have been published in multiple national and international blues magazines. After 36 1/2 years with the Department of Defense Mr. Mattox retired in 2012. He continues to write about blues for magazines, newspapers and online and still enjoys live music, woodworking and gardening.

this series. Seeing these events through his eyes, being able to preserve the essence of the moments in the way that he sees it, we'll be able to enjoy these memories for years to come. All of the photos will be posted on our website.
Jeff is a seasoned, San Diego based photographer who has spent many years photographing blues musicians and events. From house concerts and small venue shows, to blues festivals and cruises, he has captured many of the big names and emerging
musicians. His passion for photography along with his love of blues music has given him a unique ability to capture the essence of the moment.
Jeff is presently a photographer for the Gator by the Bay music festival and the Gourmet Blues Series at Humphrey Backstage. He has also been a photographer for the San Diego Blues Fest, Yuma Boogie, Brews and Blues Fest, Julian Blues Bash, and Baja Blues Fest.
Jeff has a Professional Certificate in Photography from the University of California, San Diego Extended Studies, is a member of the Professional Photographers of America, and a lifetime member of the Blues Lovers United of San Diego.
Mary Ann Haskell

Mary Ann is one of San Diego's biggest Blues supporters, and has been working with Rosalea as head merchandise coordinator sine 2016.
Growing up in a musical household, Mary Ann Haskell developed a deep love of Blues music after teenage years as a Rock ‘n’ Roll girl, with a dose of Country mixed in. Realizing those genres were rooted in Blues lent a depth of authenticity and led to a musical epiphany. The Blues became her steady focus in the early 80s, and promoting Blues music has been her passion ever since. ‘SanDiego BluesGirl’ was coined at the Doheny Blues Festival, many years ago, by her fellow Blues lovers, a name she relishes living up to.
